Development Roadmap


Alright, I've been wanting to make this post for a while, but any time I wanted to touch this project, I spent that time working on the game itself.

This is about the development of T-Mon Trainer and my plans for how to make this project take off. I've made a nice graphic to summarize things.

So, let's break that down.

We are currently in Phase 1: Alpha Build. At the moment, I am setting up all of the basic game systems and the main storyline of Act 1 of the game itself. At this stage, all art assets are placeholders made by me every quickly. At this time, development builds are free to anyone who wishes.

When I get to Phase 2, I will be creating a Patreon to fund further development and the creation of proper art assets. Once the Patreon is set up, future development builds will be patron-exclusive. Further patron rewards will be available as well, but I haven't yet settled on them yet. The final Phase 1 build will remain free as a demo.

In Phase 3, I'll be putting the game up for sale here on itch.io (and other places as I can arrange), with a refined version of the demo made available for free. Past that, there might be more content; it just depends.

I've currently no idea when the phases will end, so I'm not going to try and commit to any dates. I hope to get to the end of Phase 1 before the end of the SuNoFes game jam, but I'm not making any promises just yet.
